good emulator is sixtyforce because it is smooth and runs fast. A few good ROMs to get are:

Super Mario 64

have recently come across some great tools for Editing Super mario 64. They are called toads tool 64 and M64ROM extender.Getting
started using the programs:(NOTE: these programes only work for the super mario 64 ROM.)
First
you need to have a super mario 64 ROM, so go to a good ROMs website if you dont have one.
Then
you will have to boot up ROM Extender, and extend the ROM.
And finally
you must then open toads tool and load up the ROM.
This program allows
you to change textures, rotate items and completely change
levels.
